How Busboys and Poets is Green
Busboys and Poets dedication to the environment shines all over the restaurant’s menu. For those craving eco-friendly vegetarian and vegan food options, Busboys and Poets offer a wide range of tasty non-meat dishes ranging from the Sweet Fuji Apple and Gorgonzola Sandwich, to the Spinach and Pesto Lasagna. Compatible with all palates, Busboys also offers an array of meat dishes, including their free-range, grass-fed beef burgers. To wash it all down, one can enjoy a selection from their fair-trade coffees and teas, or organic beer and wines. Busboys extends their dedication to the environment to the entire facility by using 100% wind power, donating all their cooking oil to biofuels, and recycling all their aluminum, glass, plastics and paper.
Why we think Busboys and Poets is great
When you grab a meal at a coffee shop or catch a live show at a bar, you usually have to make compromises: a good coffee shop with mediocre food, or a fun bar with cheesy entertainment. At Bus Boys and Poets you don’t have to make any compromises. You’re served up sustainable and delicious food and drink, an ever-expanding bookstore, and entertainment by some of the best poets in DC. And the best part? It’s all environmentally friendly. No Wonder Washington City Paper voted it Best Place to Take an Out-of-Towner in 2010.
