A bit about The Java Shack
In early 1996, good friends Dale and Debbie came together to give life to their dream of establishing a true community coffee house. Java Shack is a gathering of for people of all walks of life and an active partner in building the community, which has allowed them to be justly dubbed “the Cheers coffeehouse of Arlington”. Their commitment to building relationships with customers and community alike has given them the ability to establish themselves as a friendly space which will undoubtedly sustain them for years to come.

How The Java Shack is Green
Java Shack uses only biodegradable/compostable to-go cups and locally roasted organic and fair-trade certified coffee. In addition to many green operation initiatives, Java Shack has instituted a comprehensive recycling program to reduce waste by 80%, is powered by wind energy and saves all espresso and coffee grounds for high energy fire log production. They supply gluten-free muffins and scones from local bakers and support a variety of community-based organizations.
