  
Live Green is a membership organization working to build a thriving green economy by:
1) Finding and supporting the incredible social entrepreneurs who are creating businesses
that are not only profitable, but good for workers, the community, and the planet
2) Building a massive consumer buying pool to help those businesses thrive
We make green living easier, more affordable, and more accessible to all people. We organize a variety of community events including a city-wide eco-scavenger hunt, run behavior-shifting green-living challenges, and offer our members exclusive discounts to dozens of the best green businesses.
Our plan is to build a thriving green economy here in DC, and then do the same in metropolitan areas throughout the country. Below are some of our accomplishments:
- Helped switch restaurants like Busboys and Poets from factory farmed meat
to local, grassfed, organic sources
- Switched Pete’s Pizza and 40 other businesses to 100% wind energy, powered
by Clean Currents
- Helped new green businesses get off the ground including Fat Worm
Compost and Café Green 
- Partnered with more than 100 triple-bottom line enterprises (learn about our
green screen here) including local favorites Arganica and Local 16, and national
partners Ecover and Zipcar, to deliver discounts to Live Green members 
- Organized dozens of community events including the Low Oil Challenge, Track Your Stuff Challenge, Green Rush, and Peace Potluck - Supported numerous non-profits including One Common Unity, Citizen Effect,
